Fairy wood

Over the summer on our holiday in Yorkshire, I was inspired by a piece of work that was all laid out in miniature using drift wood. I thought I would have a go at designing miniature spaces " Fairy castles " as the boys referred to them.

The piece of drift wood I am working on was found on the beach at Llangennith Gower in South Wales. You can see in the photos I have started work on the door. The wood is spalted and when I removed the bark it exposed a beautiful natural pattern.
