The doors are smooth and now finally secure with 5mm acrylic. I had to give in to having acrylic for two reasons, (1) The weight issue of toughened glass....(2) The fact that with two lively boys and glass there is the inevitable worry of broken glass and injuries with... boys...footballs..etc. I am very pleased with the acrylic, it went in a dream and looks lovely. The little window to the side of the workshop is to be hinged this weekend.
